1987 crx hf electrical problems

ok i just bought a 87 crx hf for 75 dollars b/c it has an electrical problem. it acts like the distributor cap is cracked b/c it cuts out when it gets wet, but i changed it and it still does it. i know it's something aorudn there b/c i poured some water on it while it was running and it still did it. any idea's ?

If you can find a distributer at your local salvage yard cheap, I would try that next. Have you changed wires yet. The other day My coil wire grounded out against the body and I had a simular problem.

i already changed the distrubutor cap and the all plug wires. thats y i can't figure out what it is

is there a computer under his seat that gives a code? probably not if its carb but i am not sure...

the Hf is carb, and Hot rod Heistand is talking about the entire distributor, not just the cap

i figured it out. somehow the coil is getting wet. hopefully i can fix this with just changing the wire
