Weird Cranking Sound.... Help!!
My check engine light came on a few days ago.... I thought it might have been the oil or something... So i replaced it and waited for the light to go away, but it didn't. I thought i would just give it some more time and it'll go away. Anyway... Today i noticed a weird cranking/grinding sound coming from the car when it's in 2nd gear, or changing from 1st to 2nd. It doesn't happen all the time, but every once and a while.... What do you guys think is the problem?
It's a 1999 Civic VP sedan. Thanks!

jump the ecu and figure out what code it's giving off. the grinding seems to be grinding gears, you may have a messed up tranny on your hands.

errr... thats what i'm hoping isn't the case... How do you jump the ecu? I saw that engine code threads, but how do i use the information they give me?
