88 s-10 2.8L bog down with map sensor plugged in

I recently purchased a new map sensor for my 88 2.8 liter. I just replaced cap rotor wires plugs and now the map sensor. When i plug the MS in it drops the tech to around 950rpms and is a dog on acceleration, kind of flutters to the point of needing to play with the gas pedal to keep it running. so i unplugged the sensor and it revs to around 1800rpms, the engine light comes on but it has all kinds of power on acceleration. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my feul milage is in the crapper. oh and all the vaccum lines are correct and new. Thanx in advanced.
