tire size???

i'm rolling on the stock 15 in rims, and just wondering if the size 205 50 15 is ok, i got the 205 60 15 which is okay, cause the tired shop dude said the 50 series are way too small. so just wondering if it IS too small for a 96 240 to roll on. thanks.

Re: tire size???

The sidewall will be 16% smaller with 205/50's than what you have now. The speedometer will be off by 6.5%. So when your speedometer says you are going 45 mph, you are really going 42.075 mph. The speedometer is off by more and more as your speed increases, like when your speedometer says you are going 100 mph, then you are really only going 93.5 mph.

Put the tires on and then go back and tell the guy that he is a moron for saying they are too small. It will still have plenty sidewall on the tire.
