Stereo system for 300zx?

I have a 1990 300zx n/a 2+2 model. It has a Bose system in it. Does anyone know the speaker sizes that comes in this model Z? i am pretty sure that there are 6 or in the back but what is in the front? i have been told 5 1/4" and i have been told 3.5." all replies will be greatly appreciated thank you.

The rears are 6 1/2" and the fronts 3 1/2". Read further and it says that you might have trouble with replacing the stock speakers because of the unique boxes in the doors/rear pillars for them. It was all designed as a system and has to work as a system. And frankly I've found that the BOSE units deliever very clear high quality sound up to very loud volumes but they tend to lack bass. At some point you just have to push more air, which means bigger speakers. Your choice.

hey i am selling/parting out my zx and i have a kick ass sound system I will sell if you want it. It's kenwood CD and Amp, Infinity and JL Audio speakers and tweeters, JL Audio Stealth subwoofer box which fits under the carpet in the trunk/hatch next to the spare tire. Pretty sweet - you can't even see the box and it sounds great. Whole system cost me over 3 grand but I'll sell for 1.... Please call me if interested. i want to replace my speakers just because my back one is blown out. but i will probably wait until my b-day (december, holy crap that is a long time) and have my parents buy me a stereo.

i can get hooked up with a good deal on rockford stuff so im gonna do a custom box to my liking and design, ill post pics, and have rockford everything.

I had a 12" MTX and a ~280 watt (I think...something like that) amp in my 86 2+2. Sounded killer...mad my nose tickle. Got the amp AND box off some dude in a circuit city parking lot for 80 bucks...probably stolen. This is why I wasn't too upset when it got jacked out of MY car...except for all the collateral damage done to my car (which made me feel like someone slapped my child) and the fact that the guy that installed it all SCREWED THE BRAND NEW (quite expensive, actually) AMP TO THE TOP OF THE BOX. I never thought about this being a problem....until the WHOLE THING got stolen.

Just some FYI...if anyone ever thinks about putting subs in their car, don't attach the amp to the speaker box...never even occured to me what a nice, handy package deal for the teeny-brained types of the world this was. Wish I had thought about it earlier.

I have 3 10'' MTX 6000 thunder subs w/ the 801D (800watt mono block amp) and a killer 60x4 wattage output headunit. nice for my hatchback.
