Check engine code 32

If anyone has any info on this code please let me know. All of the codes I have seen online say 32 is for older vihicles not mine.

Just found out code 32 is An open or shorted condition detected in the EGR solenoid circuit. Possible air/fuel ratio imbalance not detected during diag. Not sure what it all means

Re: Check engine code 32

What's wrong with the truck?
a 32 wouldn't make it run bad...

To answer your question my truck just cranks over but no attemp at all to start. Im not getting any spark to plugs. I have hooked a test light to the two wire plug that plugs into coil. When cranking it over I get no power to test light.

Re: Check engine code 32

code 11.: No ignition reference signal detected during cranking (bad Hall effect) OR timing belt skipped one or more teeth; OR loss of either camshaft or crankshaft position sensor. Can cause the engine to stop working entirely with no limp-home mode.

Code 12 is BS, says your battery ws disconnected.

Try these sensors (whichever one you have) you might get lucky and its just unplugged?!

Re: Check engine code 32

Code 31 should be the bad EGR solenoid circuit driver thing, not 32. 31 was what my truck was doing before.

I agree that you're getting code 11 and code 12. Did you recently change batteries or something where you were messing with wiring? Maybe something arched or something, maybe something has gone bad and the computer thinks the battery was recently disconnected. I got that code 12 before, and I thought, "yeah I know it was recently disconnected, I WAS THE ONE WHO DISCONNECTED IT!"

I took my timing chain cover off to fix a leak. I did not take CHAIN off or move it. Just replaced a gasket also I did take battery cable off while working on it. But that is it I also replaced my water pump.

Re: Check engine code 32

Sauer1,
I know it sounds like it's impossible, and we all hate it when it happens, but something happened to cause it not to run.
I am, like everybody else, just as embarassed when I finally find out it IS something I did. And usually it hasn't been me that found the trouble! (even worse yet when it's my wife that finds the something!!)

The point is to get your truck back to running!

Carefully retrace what happened and what you did, and where you put your hands on the motor. You Might find something you just pulled a little to hard on, or something weak just came apart to spite yourself.

did you get silicone seal smeared on the crank sensor when you put it back together?
Did you pinch, and thusly break, part of the wiring under the timing cover?
SOMETHING happened....

Re: Check engine code 32

Did you have any help? Maybe you're forgetting to mention that your friends brought a big case over and made you help them drink it before they helped you fix that leak in your timing cover...

Something must be wrong with it, you must have done SOMETHING, and you just don't realize it...

I did f#%* it up. Taking the bolt off of the crank to remove the Harmonic balancer. I used a screw driver in the fly wheel. Unfortunatly I did not put the screw driver in the teeth I put it in a notch. The notch I put the screw driver in belonged to a plate. The crank sensor reads off of the plate notches. The plate got bent just enough to throw the sensor. So now I have a lot more work to do. Now I know not to do that, to bad I had to learn the hard way. I just hope I dont get flamed to bad. hehe

Re: Check engine code 32

HA!
SEE?
YOU did F#%* IT UP!
AND I THOUGHT YOU WERE GETTING MAD AT US FOR INFERRING THAT YOU DID F#%* IT UP!

Ok, I won't beat you with a harmonic balancer or anything....., but I've got this Sauer taste in my mouth now....!

I am glad you found the problem though, really.

Good luck with the far more expensive and unfortunate solution!

Re: Check engine code 32

That's not a happy ending, but at least you found the problem. Could have happened to anyone.
