Shaving Emblems?
I have a 1996 Honda Accord EX with a gold kit. Now that I have my rims on there, my gold is looking kind of out of place. I'm gonna keep the gold "H" on the front and back, but I'm thinkin about taking off the "Accord" and the "EX". Does anyone have any tips before I do this? And do you think this is defacing the car, and will I have a hard time trading this in? I was just wondering....making sure I don't do nothing stupid. Thanks in advance. I'm out.

If you plan on trading I dont think it would be a good idea. But i dont think trading in cars are either. You never get what its worth.

Well I just know that there is about a million Honda Accords that look like mine and I was just trying to make mine look a little different. Right now I'm in high school, but when I go to college, my moms said she might get me a new car. What other way can I get money for the car besides trading it in?

Re: Shaving Emblems?
Word up, that's what I told my mom but she was like there's a possibility nobody's gonna want that "piece of junk"...I just want to trade it in when I'm trying to get a new car cause its so easier, but if shaving the emblems is gonna affect whether or not later on I can trade it in. Then I'm not gonna do it, but thanks for the advice y'all.

Re: Shaving Emblems?
To get them off take a flat head screwdriver, wrap it in a rag or towel (so it doesn't scrape the paint) and pry them off. After they are all off there will still be parts of the sticker left on the car.
Some people say to spray WD40 on the leftovers and scrub them off with a rag, but I sat there and pulled them all off with my fingernails. It took me a while but was worth it in the end. |

Re: Shaving Emblems?
The screwdriver isn't really necessary. Safer way: use floss. Dental floss is thin enough to get behind the emblem and fine enough to strip the adhesive they use. I've debadged my Civic so I know this works. As for removing the leftover glue, you can use goo-gone or heat it up with a hair dryer and pull it off. Here's a pic of my debadged rear:

Re: Shaving Emblems?
Word up...thanks for the info the both of y'all. I think I'm gonna go head and do it. I don't know how I'm gon trade it in, but I guess I'll just worry about it then. Until then I want my car to look unique. Shit I might even keep this car when I go to college. One never knows?!?
