Broken Stud?

Has anyone ever had this problem with their Maxima? The guy at Midas said the stud on the driver side of my exhaust gasket was broken, in turn it causes a clicking noise when I accelerate. Has anyone else experienced this before? If so and you got it fixed how much was the labor?

Re: Broken Stud?

my friend broke a stud on a 91 civic and it cost him $80 in parts and labor.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is a common and expensive item to fix. See http://www.4dsc.com/articles/drivetrain/index.shtml for additional information.

I have just had all of my studs replaced, as is recommended, I thought only a couple were broken, but it is a sign that more are about to go.

I am in Australia, so prices are difficult to assess, but approx. 1-2 full days at the workshop is what you may need to expect to pay for, that ammounted to AU$1500.

Hope this helps.

Jarrod
