It seems like a sign from above but more likely from below

This has been asked before but a satisfactory answer was never recieved. The bottom end in my 95 TT is a total loss (number 1 connecting rod is now in the oil pan and block has a softball sized hole in it). So in shopping around for VG30DETTs I found a total of about 4 after a few weeks of inquiries. Three are far far away and would all cost about 5 grand to purchase and ship. Then I found one about twenty miles away for about $2200, buts its an import. I know cams and things got changed but the cams and turbos on my motor are good so I could swap alot of parts over and I was thinking about having the engine rebuilt with forged whirly bits anyway. Still I need a definitive list of things that were different. Websites, manuals, bible verses, whatever. Any help is appreciated.
