13B-REW in FC

how hard is this? is there a lot of custom work or is it about the same since its basically the same engine? tell me everything I could possibly need to know... I'm considering keeping my wrecked 7 a few more months so I can save up more money and maybe get a shell then buy a 13B-REW... is $2800 the usual price for this engine? links for any info are great too, and shops that will do the work and how much it costs is great too.

this is basically just an idea at the moment, so I'm still looking for a TII for now...

oh yea and did all the 13B-REW's come with front mount intercoolers? I'd guess they did since its not a top mount like the TII... never really looked into the rew that much till just now

Re: 13B-REW in FC

The motor mounts are different. From all I've read it's NOT an easy conversion.

Re: 13B-REW in FC

Why would you do it anyways? You can get the same amount of HPs out of the 13BT as you can as the REW.

Re: 13B-REW in FC

I was just curious of the price difference of the swaps compared to the power output stock... but I'm sticking to the TII anyways

Re: 13B-REW in FC

the rew can handle more power for one since the rotor housing are re-enforced compared to previous housings.

Re: 13B-REW in FC

I read that the housings can crack when 400hp is exceded and mazda made the rew housings stronger to prevent this from happening.
