1963 Chevrolet Impala 409/425 Convertable.

I am purchasing a 1963 Chevy 409/425 4 speed car. Can anyone tell me what numbers should match on the engine and how it relates to the door tag? Tell me what I should know to tell a matching number car?
I really would appreicate it.
