rpm range
just wondering. what rpm does your prelude Si. sit at at 60 mph in 5th gear. mine sits exactly at 3000 rpm and im wondering if its normal.

yah that should be about right cause 5th gear is a gas saver so rpms should be lower
mine is 95 vtec though shouldnt matter much |

80 mph - 4k rpm
100mph - 5k rpm those are the only speeds I've actually watched my tach as I was driving. |

why are they so high? You'd think it's hard on the engine, and gas mileage at such high engine speeds. You wouldn't drive around at 5000 rpm in 1st or 2nd, now would you?

Those speeds are on 5th gear on the freeway.

is that when the engine is most efficient? I have an S and i thought the engine would be most gas efficient at about 3k
