help !! passport is running rich - power loss
Hello,
I've got a '95 Passport that's giving me quite a headache. The two local Honda dealerships can't seem to help. The car will sometimes loose LOTS of power at mid to high rpm's - blowing black smoke out the tailpipe. We took it into the dealership - they said that it was the oxygen sensor...fine, $300. Two months later, it happens again. Took it back in - now they say it's the MAP sensor....fine, $400. Two months later, it happens again. Took it back in - now they say that they don't know what it is. We took it to another place - they don't know what it is either. BUT they added some octane boost or something, charged us $30...now it's running a LITTLE bit better.....uggh !! What do you think ? Thanks, Brian Hall. |

Re: help !! passport is running rich - power loss
i would have thought oxygen sensors to. There has been a known problem if the engine has oil leaks the oil will travel into the breather on the o2 sensor and can screw it up. So since they replaced it it may go bad again if its still leaking oil.
Did the car run ok after the put the o2 sensor in and if so how long? |
