Re: Low end

You slap a supercharger into the engine bay.

Wrong. The superchargers available for the S2000 are centrifugal types, and they do not help the low end at all. They develop boost relative to rpm (the higher the engine rpm, the higher the boost psi), and in order to limit the total boost at the very high rpm of the S2000 they simply cannot make usable boost under 4000 rpm.

The "best" way to increase low end response on the road is to install numerically higher rear end gears. Stock is 4.10:1, may are going to 4.40:1, 4.57:1, even 4.8:1. This doesn't actually increase engine power, but it increases the torque to the road at any speed.

Re: Low end

Look at a dyno chart. It may not dramatically increase the torque in the 1000-4000 rpm rev range but it Does increase the torque.

Cool Real-world, or spurious dyno charts...you decide

Since I drive two blown vehicles I don't have to rely on some random dyno chart to tell me what happens - my experience is real-world. My roots-blown car has instant power at almost any rpm, which is what you'd expect from a positive displacement blower. The centrifugal blower just doesn't make any boost below 2000-2500 rpm on an engine capable of 5000 rpm ( 9 psi max on this one, too much for an S2000. This moves the actual boost point much higher on the S ), so any meaningful difference on a dyno chart is from somewhere else. I assume the original poster was looking for something greater than 5 to 6 more ft-lbs of torque....

I suppose you could stroke it...but thats probably not a smart thing to do since you could go ahead and swap out for a f22c. But you will get more low end torque, guaranteed.

Cool

I suppose the real answer is simple - shift at a higher rpm. This requires no extra parts, is relatively free, and a lot more fun. By holding 1st longer, when you shift to 2nd you are at a higher rpm and have more torque. Besides, this allows you to savor that marvelous sound the exhaust makes in Vtech mode....

Re: Low end

Well if the guy wants low end power maybe he can get a turbo kit for his S2K. It will cost a lot of money but I've heard and read mad crazy results from turboed S2K's.
