is this right!?

ok. i just took a hit to my ego. i have a 96' cav. with: 2.4 dohc engine, injen warm air intake, unorthodox underdrive crank pulley, header, free-flow cat., cat-back system, poly engine mounts, b&m shift+ kit, jet power control module, fresh air feed to the egr valve, and a recent tune up. i just raced a 98 cav. completely stock with the 2.2 non-ecotech. he beat me by about a car length. granted mine has about 100k miles on it and is an automatic, whereas his is a 5 speed with less miles, but i think i should have smoked his car. we both started at the same time spinning tires for a sec. is there something wrong with my car or what!?!

Re: is this right!?

uh that was the stupidest thing i ever read blkcavi02...the auto with the shift plus will shift faster than any cavy 5 speed.

you should of beat him BAD with what mods you have...with what mods you have you are capable of a mid to high 15 second 1/4 mile...try removing that JET module...those things do more bad than good.

Re: is this right!?

if i bypass it, the car still reacts the same. i'm also having other problems with my car that i think is the only other reason it could have beaten me. check out my other post and tell me what you think too if you don't mind "ok, i need some help now". thanks

I agree. If you are a good driver, you can do things with a stick that seem unlikely.

Re: is this right!?

so your think even with my mods the 5 speed is still quicker? seems almost unlikely that a tranny would make that much difference.
