Bogging down on acceleration

Hi all, I havea Chevy S10 1991 4.3L injected. The problem is it will bog down on acceleration. I can get it up to speed but it will take a while. Two things, I cant properly check the timing as there is no emissions sticker and I can't find that info anywhere. Anyone got it? second I need to change the fuel filter (today) But I have adlusted the timing it runs better but it looks like its gettinig too much fuel when I open the throttle body. Which sensor might this be that regulates this? Any insight on this would help a great deal

Vic

YOu first need to unplug a single wire to bypass the timing advance. this wire is located under the dash inside your truck on the passenger side. You'll see where the wiring harness passes through the firewall. The wire is tan with a black stripe I believe. It is next to all the other wires in the harness but is on the outside of the bundle with a little black connector on it. Simply unplug this and it puts the EST in bypass mode. Then take your timing light and time it at 0 degrees. When you unplug this wire your ECM will set a code 42- noted by your check engine light coming on. Once you time it, shut it off and plug the wire back in. Then unplug your ECM fuse for a couple minutes to erase the code. Then start it back up and your done! Simple as that.
