wrong term
lol its not a code puller. the technical term is a master tech. it allows you to control anything electrical in the palm of your hand. its quite fun actually. you can set it up and rev ur engine with arrow keys.

last time i checked a master tech is an ASE: Master Certified Tech. Which means a person who has recived acreditation from ASE that he know a sh*tload about fixing cars. Now there is no certain name for the device which you speak of. Many techs i know (I know a bunch because im a tire monkey for Kauffam) call it a "Scan tool" (Including my brother who is an ASE: Master Tech L1 as i decribed above). I have also heard it called a "code puller" but mostly i here that term used to describe what they are doing ("hey im going to pull the code on this Ford") Different manufacters call it different things. So EVERYBODY IS WRONG. I can tell you one thing for sure... the MODIS sold by snap-on is the best "scan tool" you can get.
