SR20DET Legal?

The sr20det is not legal in California cuz of the strict smog issues and stuff...if you can bribe someone smog checking your car, then maybe you have a chance

The SR20DET is not legal anywhere in america

The SR20 FWD motor is not the same.

Haha, well well well, Im lucky I live in the good 'ole state of Tennessee, where smog checks are nonexistant! I can put whatever the funk I wanna in my car. And nobody can do anything about it, except be dominated by me....bwaahaahaahaa

But first I have to find a 240 haa

Im telling you Ken, if you want a good home(other than your own) for your car....its right here, SR20 and all. haha. Just one of the minor drawbacks of Cali !

Actually, it isn't legal because that motor was never offered in the US. SR's will pass smog all day long if they are tuned right.

yeah either that or if u live in cali u could always do it under the table, im guessing $120 if u know the guy

more like 400-450....i doubt a tech would risk his name and license for 120....But anyways it is completely illegal even though it can pass the emissions part. No matter what it is illegal but not impossible to have....so many loop holes....just have to know how to get around smog.

ok the SR20 is in the 200sx, and i seen lots fo 200sx, why can't u get the SR20 from the 200sx into the 240s?? The only differance is the tranny. But it doesn't affect much, and that has nothing to do with the smog. is the 200sx the engine of SR20DE?

I think that in Europe they are the 200sx...with SRs in them. I hope that's what he's talking about. Maybe I'm just stoned. I'm sure it's in the FAQ hahahahahah

In 200sx ser's there is an sr20de the only difference is the jdm versions all have turbos on them. i know i have an sr20de in a stock 200sx ser
