Question Seized Pistons on Wrist-Pin Side

Hello

Not sure whether this is the right forum to post thiz Q. Pls direct me to the correct forum if not.

Why do pistons of say 6 cylinder engines scuff on the wrist pin sides of the piston skirt ? (I believe the wrist pin side is actually the narrower side of the piston) Is it that with extreme overheating, the narrow side of the piston can expand so much that it scuffs against the cylinder bore wall and then eventually seizes.

But I have found that the other two sides of the piston skirt (the larger side) do not have any scuff marks.

If any of you can answer this or direct me to a good site where I can get some information I'll be really grateful.
