anyone know of a mpeg/avi player that can play broken files AND be able to fast forward through them?

Most should be able to play them but it depends on how damaged the files are because of hte compression method. If all else fails use quickview (a dos based player) and it will play it like a streaming method (like a vcr) but no fast fowarding or verry little support of it.
