Not releasing stress

What does everyone here do to release stress?

I lose myself in disassembling something I haven't taken apart before. I forget what ever was bothering me and become completely absorbed in my task. Unfortunately I seem to wind up leaving my targeted object disassembled all too often. . .

I write, or read, or just drive around. I also play on my drum kit.

Re: Not releasing stress

I have a punching bag in my spare room. When I finish work, I go in there and beat the stuffing out of it.

I used to go outside and punch the nearest telephone pole. Two or three shots on a telephone pole that's chock full of old staples from years of yard sale flyers is murder on your knuckles though .... so I finally smartened up and bought a bag. I use it so much that I have to replace it every now and then, but it's well worth the hassle to save my digits.

Re: Not releasing stress

A drive, a hard workout or playing guitar untill my fingers hurt. Hey Jon, if you know a bassist, we can start a band...J Swigz and the Stress-Release All Stars, maybe?

Re: Not releasing stress

There has to be nothing better than a hard workout. Something about exercising, especially running, makes you feel a whole lot better afterwards.

Re: Not releasing stress

8000RPM shifting seems to do it. Or a nice walk.

Got to agree with ya on that one, nothin like leaving parts of electronics littered on the floor of the bedroom, only to scoop them up the next time you get mad and try to re-assemble.

Re: Not releasing stress

One word: Remington.

I just come home after work, sit in my ubercomfy chair and let the stress bleed off me. Then I come on AF, see some of the fuckwits here, and get all stressed out again...which is then relieved by banning. It's a complex cycle.

Re: Re: Not releasing stress

Ahh stress...when the rare occasion comes by where beating the living crap out of my siblings or destroying some sort of hard substance does not cut it, the good ol pellet gun can relieve me of this uncomfort. Who here has played pellet dart???
