Re: Need help with pushbutton start for race car
That's exactly the same set up I have on my 87 CRX SI. I'm getting ready to go work on it now so I will look and see what wires I have where, I did all that stuff last year so i've already forgot. What year and make car do you have?

Re: Need help with pushbutton start for race car
Ok, all your wire colors are the same but one, your green wire is yellow on my car but I guess it has the same function.
1. black/white stripe, engaging side of push button 2.black/yellow stripe and green wire "my yellow", ON position of switch. 3.white/red stripe, didn't use. 4. 2 white wires together, off position of switch 5. take a piece of wire and link it from the off position of the switch to the oppisite terminal of your black/white wire on your push button, this will let you crank your engine with the switch in the on or off position which helps in engine timing and other procedures where you want your engine to crank but not start, I also use it to prime the engine with oil after it's been sitting for a while to prevent engine damage from dry starts. Hope this helps you out a little. If you need anything else or advice on settin it up for racing, feel free to give me a yell. |

Glad you asked, I have just recently found more awesome mods using all stock stuff see, the forum called 87 CRX SI on dirt/ crank pulley, That was a very productive mod. I have also found that removing the thermostat and putting in a washer makes a lot of horses due to a lower opperating temperature. If you are interested in hearing more get a hold of me in two weeks for details on all the other totally legal mods I've made. I don't want to put all of my secrets out in the open just in case my competition reads this forum but, I can e-mail you a list of things if you like. I'm going to be in Hawii for the next two weeks . I need to know what year, make and model your car is? I really would like to see a few more little 1.5's kick some a$$. See Ya. P.S. your wiring must be a little different, because that is the way my car is currently wired, I pulled the switch out of the dash to give you the diagram. Good luck racin!!!!!!!!! |
