Exclamation HATING the new ride!!! (see my second post)

Well I finally got to drive my Talon for the second time today and it was a blast. A few questions came up though:

1) The used boost gauge I bought comes with a very narrow hose. Is this the hose I attach to the T-fitting I'm supposed to install on the side of the intake manifold? Hm, that was a bit unclear. I'm supposed to cut the hose on the front of the intake manifold, then install a T-fitting with zip ties or hose clamps, then I guess I run the very tiny vac line from the T-fitting to the gauge in my car? This right?

2) Does anyone know of a good boost and air fuel gauge installation tutorial? The boost gauge tutorials I found were decent, but I'm not sure about where I have to hook up the power wire from the boost gauge? And I have no clue about the a/f gauge, can't find a tutorial on that anywhere .

3) Would you recommend a TT harness rather than stripping and connecting wires? If not, is there a good TT install tutorial without a harness?

Re: Loving the new ride!

for the boost gauge power run it to the fuse box, I have all my pillar gauges on a toggle(as well as many other things). if you dont want to run it to the fuse box run a power wire through the firewall from the battery, make sure to trow an inline fuse on that wire tho. you will need to toggle it or it will always be on. I have mine run to the fuse box so if the car is off the gauge is automatically off but it the car is on i can either turn it on or off using a toggle. good luck

Re: Loving the new ride!

1. You probably have that small as hell nylon hose, and I have no idea what fitting to tap it into a hose with. You'll need to find a T fitting where the stock rubber hose can run through it, and the T part has an NPT fitting (I assume that's what you have) for you to use the little pieces to connect it with. If you decide to go the easy way, scrap that small hose and just get some rubber hose to put over the end of the boost gauge fitting. Like this: http://www.roadraceengineering.com/i...structions.htm

2. A/F gauges are useless and a waste of money on a stock o2 sensor, but if you have a gauge, here you go: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69282

3. Again, I won't recommend a turbo timer because I don't think it's necessary unless you're at the track or just racing. In that case, I am not bothered to sit in the car an extra 2 minutes to cool down.

On a WRX where I just installed a turbo timer yesterday, the factory alarm makes it difficult to wire without a harness. We did not use a harness though. If you want to just plug it in, or you don't have the tools to make a good connection for wire taps (electrical tape doesn't count) then go ahead and buy the harness.
