Talking Would YOU pay the extra for a 2001 M3 over the 1999?

Would you pay the extra dough for the 2001 M3...or be happy with a 1999 and use the diff. to mod?

I guess it would depend on my budget.
If I had 60K to blow, why not get the E46 M3.
However, after looking at the numbers,
that extra $$20K sure doesn't seem to buy
you much over the 99 E36 M3. Sure, the E46
would beat it on a race track, but, in the real
world, I really doubt most people would be
able to use that little bit of extra capability,
you know? Save your $$, get the 99 and
you'll have a ton of $$ for mods.

You should drive both, and then decide.

E 46 is prettier IMO, and nicer interior. I have a 99. I have read that the e36 has a more raw feel to it. That is an attribute for racing enthusiust. THe e46 has 90 more HP. Have read that the suspension regressed from the older model though.

You are probably a winner either way.

Just my 2cents but I would get the e36 99 ///m3. With the $$$ you saved go down to http://www.activeautowerke.com and get the turbo kit for it.

Hey call me crazy but I would also rather have a turbo e36 ///m3 over a new e46.
