Add on Cd Changer

I have a 2001 Aurora and want to add a 12 disc changer. Can I just pickup an original from a junk yard and add it on or is there anything special I need to do? I thought I read that the wiring is already there you just need to hook it up, but when I searched through the trunk I didn't see anything that looked like an extra unused plug.

My '96 has a 12 disc changer and its mounted just under the trunk lid on the right hand side. Its got its own carpeted hole.

Re: Add on Cd Changer

Good luck with finding one from a wrecker, I have a feeling those things sell awfully fast!

I actually have the changer, found a junk yard in Ohio that had 5 in stock ($125). Even if the car didn't have the CD changer originally, would the wiring still be there (I'm sure I read somewhere that it does but can't find it)?

Re: Add on Cd Changer

Both of mine use the FM modulator...don't need any special wiring for that. Set FM station on radio to 88.1 or 88.3 and go!
