STI and Forester?

I was watching TV and they were talking about the new forester having the new turbo engine producing 200 somthing hp and does 0-60 in a little over 5 seconds. Is this the sti engine?Im a little confused, doesnt the sti go 0-60 in 5.4.The sti is smaller and has more hp than the new forester. My friend has the 04 sti its fast and handles like a dream.Im interested in the forester if it has close performance as the sti because I have kids and need a little more room but dont want be the minivan dad yet.

Re: STI and Forester?

The USDM STi motor and the Forester XT motor are not the same, but are very closely related.

But here's the real STi + Forester...
So freakin' droolworthy:

Re: STI and Forester?

You guys need to go to Japanese Subaru site and check out the Forester STI. It's pretty HOT. I probably would get that over WRX since it's so practical and FAST! 265PS, STI 6-speed tranny, 18-inch alloy wheels, 17-inch Brembo's, aero parts...the list goes on. Although it's a tad slower than Impreza STI, it can smoke a WRX...and a whole lot of other cars.

Re: STI and Forester?

Oh, somehow I missed his link. I was actually quoting from that same site. I figured I'm one of the not very many people on here who can read japanese so I was helping out with the specs.

Re: STI and Forester?

the forester 2.5xt with a 5speed (usdm) haul ass, virtually no turbo lag and they put you in the back of the seat, but there has been talks of the forester sti coming to the states, i work at a subaru dealer and ive heard rumors but nothing really yet, but if it comes out the s.o.b. will haul ass
