Radio Kit For 2004 Toyota 4 Runner
Does anyone know if there is a CD changer i can directly interface with the Factory Radio other than using RF Modulated Changers? I find the sound output is not as pure as connecting a changer directly to the unit. Also, since the frequency is carried along a radio station, if you lose that frequency traveling out of the listening area, you lose the CD signal carried with the station(?)

I don't know of any aftermarket CD players that plug direcdtly into the stock radio. But to answer your other question no it will fade out the farther you *get away from the listening area* You are carrying the listening area. The RF modulators that come with the CD players are transmitting the signal thru your antenna jack onto one of your not used radio station frequencies. It's not very powerful though or everyone around you would be able to hear it also. Plus you would need a license to broadcast. =-)
You are right though the fidelity is just not there. You are better off getting a new radio and a compatible CD changer. I have a really good radio single cd player if you're interested =-) |
