Z24 won't Start, need advice, mechanic can't figure it out

Could some one out there please help me figure out what is wrong with this car. I will give you some facts. First my car wouldn't start the fuel pump module made a weird noise, so I replaced the module with a new one. Still nothing. Then my mechanic assumed it must be the fuel pump, so I purchased one for $700 and it still wouldn't start. Then it was thought to be the computer. Replaced that, still nothing. Then we got someone to do a diagnostics on it and it said ignition, so I did that, and guess what, still won't start. If there is anyone who could offer a suggestion or two, it would be very helpful and very much appreciated by this girl who just wants to drive her car.

sounds like you got a shady mechanic, did you take it to a dealership?

Too scared tooo

I won't take it there because in Canada the GM Mechanics charge $73/hr and I'm sure my bill will come out to much more than the car is worth. But to be honest, the thought has crossed my mind. Thanks for the reply.

OK let me get this straight..you dont want to spend 73 dollars to find out why your car wont start...but you have spent probally $1000 on parts that didn't fix it....makes sense to me

You need a couple things for an engine to run...air,fuel and spark
Next we need to see what is missing...and then go from there..
If the computer was replaced, was it programmed?
Did anyone check to see if you had power going to the fuel pump?
Do you have a crank signal?
Do you have power to the module?
Do you have spark?
Do you have fuel pressure?
Any codes stored in the PCM? BCM?

Re: Z24 won't Start, need advice, mechanic can't figure it out

If you haven't fixed this problem yet I might have an answer for you. I had a problem that was very similar to this. I was driving one day then the next I got up to go to work and my car wouldn't start. After consulting my mechanic I found out that it was my crankshaft position sensor. It's a relatively inexspensive part and fairly easy to replace. The only problem I had was that mine had snapped in half and I had to have my mechanic burn it out. I hope this helps you out . if not then I don't know what's wrong. Good luck :-)
