ok i got bored so i figured i'd draw one up for ya...

#1) say if you have 2 - dual 4 ohm subs, you bridge it this way and bridge it on the amp and you now are running it in 2 ohms! if your subs are dual 2 ohm you when you run it this way and bride it on the amp you are now running 1 ohm! (make sure your amp can handle a 1 ohm load before you do this or you will fry your amp!)

#2) say if you have 2 - dual 4 ohm subs, you bridge it this way and bridge it on the amp and you now are running it in 1 ohm! (make sure your amp can handle a 1 ohm load before you do this or you will fry your amp!) if your subs are dual 2 ohm you when you run it this way and bride it on the amp you are now running .5 ohm! (not many amps can handle a .5 ohm load so watch out for that)

#1 will be 4ohm if you have 2 dual 4 subs, and it will be 2ohm if you have 2 dual 2 subs.

We're talking about dual voice coil, not that retarded "dual" brand

Re: Car audio

There are two kinds of subs for the most part. Single voice coil...meaning there is only one voice coil to work with. And dual voice coil meaning there are two voice coils to work with. Both subs work very well but a dual voice coil sub allows for a great range of flexability in your install. You have more options on what impedance you can get.

There are subs with more than two voice coils but they are not common and are that way for a different purpose. Also you said "coil over" that is refers to a suspension component and not a subwoofer.
