The wrong way that works.
Well had a bit of some car trouble this week. Woke up tuesday morning and the car wouldn't start. Did the quick trouble shoot and found that fuel wasn't getting to the injectors. Turns out the fuel pump wasn't cutting on. Checked all the fuses, ran the ECM for codes so I decided that the pump was bad. Now, the right way to change the pump would be to drop the exhaust, suspension, and rear end. The wrond way, the way I did it, was to drop the exhaust and wonder bar, cut a hole in the car right above the tank, drop the tank onto the rear end and go from there. I made a clean cut with an angle grinder with a cutting blade, cleaned it up real nice and then tacked on a piece of sheet metal. All of this cuz I didn't have anything to syphen 13 gallons of gas into....lol Turns out the pump wasn't the problem. I was pissed. Checked the relay, it was good, rechecked fuses and ECM all good. Turns out the oil pressure switch was fried. Now ain't that a bitch..lol

Re: The wrong way that works.
Well the fucked part is, I did it by the book. Why the hell is the fuel pump inline with the oil pressure switch? Whoda thunk it.

Re: The wrong way that works.
well comon man, thats an easy one. its a safty deal, if you aint got no oil pressure, you dont want the engine running now do ya. so if there is an open circuit to the oil pressure switch, and the comptuer cant monitor the pressure, then its not gonna let the engine run now is it

Re: The wrong way that works.
While I understand your point, I still don't understand the logic behind putting the fuel pump inline with the oil pressure switch. It would make so much more since if possibly the ignition was in line with it. Or at least put the Oil pressure switch in the trouble shooting matrix in the manual. Oh well, problem solved and I have some brand new parts.
