starting problems maxima 98

Sorry about my english, im a new owner of a maxima gse 98, 75,000 miles, great car. after i buy it, i went to the mechanic and he did change oil and filter, change air filter and sparks plugs, he cleans the body of aceleration to, after that i notice that my car not start faster, it need 3 or 4 seconds to star, the problem is the same in cold or hot conditions, one time the car is start it works perfec, i got no one problem. i tell to mechanic maybe he did something wrong because before he did the maintenance to my car it got any problem, the startings problems beginin inmediatly after it. he tell to me that it is a coincidence because he did his job ok, i dont belive that.
any help please?
we check the sparks and there is ok. we change one more time de oil filter to.

sorry about my english, i live in monterrey mexico and i love my maxima.
i apreciate his help.

Do you know the type of spark plugs the mechanic put in? Maxima’s require special platinum plugs; it has to do with the rate of sparks generated. If you use just any platinum plug, your car will not start and handle, as it should.

Is your check engine light on? If so whats does it say. I had the same problem it ended up being the grounding in the transmission in my case mines a 5 speed manual transmission. Well i would get the ECU codes out if the check engine lights on. Then attack your problem. Best of luck.
