95 escort hesitation on take off

I have a 95 Escort lx 1.9L automatic every time i hit the gas the engine hesitates for 1 or 2 seconds. Is there anything i can do to fix the hesitation? i've tried everything, it dogs my horsepower really bad.

Try replacing the fuel filter. That will often correct the problem.

check all your wires/plugs are fitted correctly & aint loose.
