just a good drivability test more than anything. take it down the highway and check for pulling to either side and while braking. i also like to do a visual inspection of the oil, alot of times that will show any major abuse. look for any cheap fixes, nothin bugs me more than to get home and find crap strung everywhere from some moron trying to install a CD player. check tire tread, just stuff like that.

Re: Im looking at a car today
this is the second person on here whos talked about getting a 4th gen lt1 for under 5k, i paid over 5k for my third gen z28! it didnt have a lot of miles on it like 70,000 and its in excellent condition but if i couldve found a manual 4th gen with an lt1 for 3500 holy jesus. make sure you drive it around if you know what to look for you should be able to tell if its alright. thats a fun car man if its running good id go for it.

Re: Im looking at a car today
i would take it for a test drive and make sure nothin feels wrong. make sure you look at eth oil and the tires. that shows alot of how they take care of the car. also check the brakes. normally if they keep up with all those the rest of the car is in good shape but make sure you look around in it.

ok well i looked at it today.. here are the problems i see.. well 1st off his ac sezied so there are no accessories on the serpentene belt, the guy is about 35-40
a few minor interior stuff. tranny fluid is dirty, but not overfilled. engine oil is dirty, needs to be flushed and changed, there is a small ticking. might be a lifter or header leak. Exuast smells extremly good..(lol) not to rich or lean, smells like a brand new new car should actually. Flowmaster exuast, and 11inch rotors, with a extra set of 18" wheels and rims, sterio system, red with t-tops. no leaks, rebuilt rear end with true posi, but its 3500. maybe i can clean the hell out of it, and sell it for 5000..
