Rear bumper height

I was just waxing my 2003 LeSabre when I noticed that the trunk seems extremely high. I took a good look at it and the wheel wells also seemed much higher than the wheels. The car drives fine, but I've never noticed this rear height before.

With the trunk empty, the bottom of the bumper is 19 inches off the pavement and the top of the trunk is 43 inches off the pavement. Am I imagining that this is not normal?

Any other 2003 LeSabre owners want to comment on rear bumper height?

Just thought I would follow up on my own post.

The problem was a bad "height sensor". Never heard of such a thing and can't imagine why a car needs one - just one more thing to go wrong!
