Unhappy Turbo Install Help -

Here I Go again with these stupid questions - Dont hate me, hate my inability to research properly. haha.

OK - Like I said before, I have a 97' gsx with 104,000. It seems the bearings on my turbo are not right (forget what I just said, basically my turbo is no good anymore) So I got another stock T25 Turbo from a friend with 50,000. (Temporary until more money comes in for bigger turbo).

My question is - I know its going to bolt right on, but do I need to get a new gasket for it? Or Is the stock one fine. Also, Should I just blow out the stock fuel lines or go out and buy new ones?

If I do have to go out and buy new lines and a new gasket, how much would that cost?

Thanks -

Re: Turbo Install Help -

Unless your lines are leaky, like mine, they are plenty reusable. You'll want new exhaust gaskets, leaks suck.

Re: Turbo Install Help -

I reuse all gaskets when swapping turbos. But for me its only a 1 hour loss. If this takes you a day to do, it may be worth it to do it right. All you ned is the manifold to turbo gasket and down pipe gasket, since these get crushed to make a seal. The turbo to O2 housing is always reusable, just a sheet of steel. In fact I have been known to make my own in a pinch. The coolant crush washer are reusable, torque to 22 pounds, dont snap them off like a tool. The drain line gasket should be replaced, but I use RTV over the old one after cleaning the oil off. Dont remove the drain line from the pan, they are famous for leaking there. The oil feed line doesnt use a gasket.
