wont stay running

I have a 1997 z28, lt1 it was running fine the ac quit cooling, then after about 20 min. the car stalled it seemed as if the fuel pump quit working. I tried starting it after it sat for a while, it ran for a min. then i pushed the accelerator and it spit and sputtered then died. I had it towed to a shop they coded it and it showed about 20 codes then he reset the puter started it let it run for about 20 min. then it died after the cooling fans kicked on havent ran a code on it since then will try monday. Does this sound electrical or what.?????? I had the stalling problem one time about a month ago, took a wild shot at it and changed the fuel filter and no problems till now so im sure that was not the problem at that time.

maybe a bad fuel injector, or a timing problem. dont see how that has anything to do with the AC tho.

i had a similar problem but mine would die after a few seconds... after i reset everything it would run for a min maybe then stall.. it was the Mass airflow sensor.. dunno about the 4th gen ones

hmm, according to Demone the Lt1's use both MAF and MAP, but i'm not sure. but that's a very likely problem too

why do they both use Mass Air Flow and MAP (manifold absolute pressure?)

Re: wont stay running

well the MAF measures the actual airflow, while the MAP sensor and temperature sensor correct for air density. for better running baised on air/fuel mixture. as for the stalling, id say run it for codes again, and see what comes up. work from there.

Re: wont stay running

oh but you said it was like 20 codes, well, its very possible that with that many codes, its different systems, and therfore i would say its either a power or even more likely a ground problem. perhaps a ground strap or screw has worked its self loose, and its making an intermittant power problem.
