Re: Barcelona GP 2004

I watched the first session and nothing out of the ordinary happened. Apparently it's the case of the track getting faster as the session was progressing as well as some drivers not bothering going 100 % and/or having more fuel on board. Montoya was trying very hard though in both sessions, and Rubens ... I don't know what to say. Here is the order the drivers will start the race in:

Pos Driver Team T Time Gap
1 M Schumacher Ferrari B 1:15.022 137.963 mph
2 Montoya WilliamsF1 M 1:15.639 0.617
3 Sato BAR M 1:15.809 0.787
4 Trulli Renault M 1:16.144 1.122
5 Barrichello Ferrari B 1:16.272 1.250
6 R Schumacher WilliamsF1 M 1:16.293 1.271
7 Panis Toyota M 1:16.313 1.291
8 Alonso Renault M 1:16.422 1.400
9 Webber Jaguar M 1:16.514 1.492
10 Coulthard McLaren M 1:16.636 1.614
11 da Matta Toyota M 1:17.038 2.016
12 Fisichella Sauber B 1:17.444 2.422
13 Raikkonen McLaren M 1:17.445 2.423
14 Button BAR M 1:17.575 2.553
15 Heidfeld Jordan B 1:17.802 2.780
16 Klien Jaguar M 1:17.812 2.790
17 Massa Sauber B 1:17.866 2.844
18 Bruni Minardi B 1:19.817 4.795
19 Pantano Jordan B 1:20.607 5.585
20 Baumgartner Minardi B 1:21.470 6.448

The top of the grid is pretty much par for the course this year, though Sato instead of Button is a bit unusual.

But let's hear it for Panis! Toyota could really use a stout run, and him starting in 7th is a fairly good beginning.

And the official word from SpeedTV is that it was a "wind gust" that got Button off into the grass on his qualifying attempt.

Re: Barcelona GP 2004

You mean the idiot running on the track or Trulli?

Amazing start from Jarno, normal for Takuma and MS and very bad for JPM.

Re: Barcelona GP 2004

Apparently Alonso doesn't know how to set up a car.

Trulli will be toast soon.

I just can't figure how Kimi went around a Williams, unless he running ultra light.

Re: Barcelona GP 2004

Can Rubens come out in front of JOM and/or Sato? He's just done two amazing laps in a row.

Re: Barcelona GP 2004

I think he can, his last lap was 2.5 sec. quicker than JPM's

Re: Barcelona GP 2004

Rubens pits and Rejoins in 3rd, and apparently with 1 less stop to make than everyone but the Saubers.
