Drivetrain project
Ive saved some money and I am about to start up my drivetrain project. Frist off I have an 89 GTUs with a turbo motor swaped into it. I still retain the GTUs tranny (and clutch/pressure plate but im not sure about the flywheel.. i think its the NA). I plan on buying these Items: TII tranny (low miles), Flywheel (lightweight? if so steel or aluminum), Clutch/pressure plate (best street clutch that may see a little track time?) and I would put new bearings and seals in at the same time. Heres my questions. I was thinking about all Racing Beat parts but should i look elsewhere. Also do i need to get another drive shaft. I found a "NA ===> Turbo swap drive shaft" on a website i can no longer find. But what Im really asking is is that since its a GTUs (with a 4.30 limited slip) do i have to worry about the drive shaft fitting? But anyways shoot me with Ideas, info, comments, or hell... even flame me... just give me

Re: Drivetrain project
don't buy from centerforce... this freaking clutch I have pisses me off... it like shakes the car in acceleration every once in a while... most annoying thing in the world
by the way, anyone know if I can fix this somehow? I would recommend ACT, I've never heard a bad word about them and a ton of people use it so that must mean something no?

Well soyo my car shakes only when slipping the clutch (ususally only on start offs, but if i drag out a shift it will do it) Ive heard this is a common RX7 problem which can be sloved with an engine torque brace. If it is under acceleration with the clutch fully engaged you are most likly sliping it... which means the clutch isnt holding good... first did you have the flywheel resurfaced?, and you might need a new pressure plate too if you didnt replace it. Thats all Ive got... NOW MORE PEOPLE REPLY... I COMAND YOU!!! (because you are smarter than me!)

Re: Drivetrain project
I got my flywheel resurfaced and yes I replaced the whole clutch... but its usually on slow acceleration, it had stopped doing it alltogether for like 3k miles atleast then just came back this weekend... I think it might be after I've been doing an hour or more of in town driving...
