84 944 problems.

Hello from Guelph Ontario

I recently aquired a 944 N/A and to say the least it's quite a headache so far...not only are their nooo cars in the wrecking yards for me to get parts, but also not alot of mechanics are willing to work on them. Ohh well small price to pay to have a neat little sports car I guess.
I was recently quoted 80$ a peice for tailights, how does that sound to you folks in the states? too much? all i know is i don't want the lenses just the guts..and I have noo idea how much they are worth,

I seen a kick ass Place in Florida on the internet and makes me wanna move there..haha
we have one place in Toronto as far as I know that seem alright but do not sell new parts.

other than the no turn signals(front or back) this car pulls pretty good for 200,000 kms.
anyone know if I can put the newer style front on the 84 ?like this?

You wouldn't happen to mean Ians Euro Parts @ www.944online.com? If you don't mind used turn signals, call or e-mail Ian for a quote. I think I picked up both for $100US. New in the States, they run $80-100+ each!

Are the complete housings gone or just the lenses?

yes actually it was Ians..and yes you guys have nice prices in the states.. wish i lived there...I bought my 924 from a guy in florida. it came from Palm Porsche..cleanest Used car i ever bought.
anyways..I am not sure if it will solve my problems of no signals but it would solve the rusty bulb sockets and wires, damn candian roads are hard on these cars. the lenses are perfect, so just the "housing"? somehow I think it's more than that for my turn signal problem..
