Just discovered this forum! It's great!
Hello everyone. I believe that I've just discovered the very best motor vehicle forum on the internet! I wish I had found this place years ago. Hopefully I can get a few answers to my questions as well as answer a few questions that other's may have. My background druing the 60's and 70's was line mechanic and engine machinist. Once the nightmare fuel emission controls came into being, I was off on another career. Nowadays, everything is buried under all those hoses, wires, and other stuff that makes automotive repair like piecing together a puzzle! I almost feel sorry for mechanics now. Like Pigtails below who is in Hawaii , I'm a Honolulu transplant to the Reno, Nevada area. Actually, from Honolulu-USAF-Texas-France-New Jersey-Nevada. I ended up remaining in Nevada. Hey Pigtails: Anybody with my last name on Oahu and Maui is a relative of mine! I'm Portuguese/Chinese-Hawaiian....typical mix for Hawaii, right? ('62 Kaimuki Grad) I sure miss the lau laus and poi! Anyway, perhaps in the future I can answer any questions about engine machining: i.e.crankshaft grinding, cylinder reboring and sleeving, or questions related to the older vehicles, etc. Glad to be here, and really happy to have found this web site!
