Car Computer

OK, so here is what Im thinking of doing. I want to put a touchscreen LCD into the dash, or mount on the a pillar, and run a miniATX computer system under a seat or in the trunk to control Navigation, DVD, and MP3 capabilites as well as possibly run a gauge program to oversee the ECU. Anyone have recomendations for places to go to find recomendations on parts and setups, or even online stores to find LCD and miniATX bits cheap? Also, software, because at the moment, I have trimmed and tuned a version of Windoze and Linux and both still take a while to load and get into the custom interface program, any ideas? Thanks for all the help.

No, I haven't checked out any form of Palm OS. I am trying to find an OS that runs off the shelf and then just trim down the shell to load faster, I have Linux close, but I cant use some software that I found for Windoze that can run MP3, DVD, Nav, etc...Thanks for the responses, keep the advice coming if you got it.

Hello,

There is a source you can contact to have your factory installed navigation screen converted to display any multi-media source, such as TV, DVD, PC, Video Games, Rear View Camera, Satellite TV and ETC. One of the sources to which I am referring is http://www.nav-vision.com or for more information you can call Rudy Z at 718 281-0511 or email me [email protected]

Regards,

Rudy Z
