Cooling Temp Sensor?

95 SL is hard to start, turns but doesn't seem to be getting right amount of fuel. I sometimes have to resort to starting fluid. Once I get the car started and warm it runs perfectly but the service light and radiator light come on. Engine runs cool, fan seems to come on while engine is still cool and AC is off.

My thought is that perhaps it is the CTS and the computer thinks the engine is running hot. The difficulty in starting may be because the computer thinks it is starting a warm car and it is not getting the right fuel mixture. Does this make sense? Anyone?

with working at a tow truck company that happens alot on those just try to hold gas down, not long though wont want to flood motor

starting

How many miles? How many times have the injectors been replaced if ever? May be the problem. Go to autozone, buy the duralube fuel system cleaner, mix it rich and burn some gas at high idle to help burn some of that carbon off. See if that helps. Next check the PCV valve in the valve cover. Probably clogged even if it's new they clogg up quick especially if the cam and racker arm assembly are really dark colored form oil burning and pcv valve not working, causing the oil to burn them.
Check engine light may be your map sensor or your ais on the breather box. Check both plug ins. Spray them with some wd40 or electrical cleaner with silicone. If that don't do it take it to the dealership and ask a few questions at the garage. Usually its the temp sensor but i think you said the car runs cool and fans are cutting on so it's iffy could be cpu. I drive my '95 all day long start it warm start it cold no problems. Mess around a little bit get dirty and see what happens.

ok, on a 95 saturn there are 2 different coolant temp sensors. the both thread in to the cylinder head. one is grey, it is for the gague only very few problems. the other one is brown, it is for the PCM, has lots of problems. pull off the connector and look for corrosion, if any is present replace the connector and sensor, the corrosion causes unwanted resistance and the PCM sees the coolant as bieng much colder than it actually is. The PCM then increases injector pulse width causing more fuel. This extra fuel can cause hard starting and a rough idle. It will also cause overheating at extended idle because the PCM doesnt turn on the cooling fan.
