Re: shipping companies you know.

my wife and I are currently calling every place in okinawa we can think of to try and find a shipper. I'm thinking about putting my engine on E-bay. BTW, I went to Itoman last night and found a stock RB26DETT for sale from an R32. Engine, turbos, piping, AFM, everything except for the actual intercooler for..... $2400. I think i'm gonna jump all over that in about a month or two. Or maybe just wait and get it before I leave then ship it to the states. I'll keep you posted if we find a shipper though, there's GOT to be SOMEONE in okinawa that can ship this shit to the states!!!!!

Re: shipping companies you know.

and that price isn't a special or anything, that's just the price for any RB26DETT bone stock, whatever one they got in at the moment.... No hurry either. Called some places today and they all redirected her to one phone number, but when we tried to call them it was closed i guess so... gonna try back on monday. I'm thinking around 1500 bucks to ship a motor and tranny. Might not be the best price to start a business on but hey, works for me.. all i want to do is bring the RB26 back to the states and put it in something. just want a track car anyway so.... I'm not too concerned with legalization and shit. This place also does the following work on R32 GTS-t's:
RB26DETT and 5speed from an R33 GTS25t installed, with the drive shaft welded so it fits the 1.5" gap. completely installed and running with a GTR stock intercooler for 5000 bucks.
2400 for the RB26
500 for the R33 5 speed
about 2 grand for labor, intercooler and small parts.

OR:

RB26DETT, with Yon W D transmission :-) (4WD) from a GTR, front axles converted to 4WD. Rear Attezza member and computer completely installed for 7500 bucks.

projects that they were working on at the time:
Cefiero RB25DET w/ 5 speed conversion

R30 w/ R33 RB26DETT, R33 5 speed, tubbed out 12" Rear wheels. Roll cage.

240Z RB26DETT w/ 5 speed.

SR20 swap into a 2 door GTS with a monster turbo

there were about 15 RB26's in various states of being built just sitting on tires (or on engine stands for the good ones). It was a beautiful thing and it made me realize that I'm getting a damn RB26 before I leave here, even if it's not going to go into my skyline. If I can find an R31 body w/ no engine and tranny, i'll drop in my old RB20 and build a spare car/drift car/ drive to work car. Well..... I'm not going to start talking a bunch of shit before I go actually buying the stuff but... all I'm saying is that I didn't realize how easy and cheap it was actually going to be to get my GTR motor.... :-)

Re: shipping companies you know.

Don't you guys get free or some kind of discount shipping from the Military?
after all they are sending things much heavier than an engine all around the world all the time.

Or do you have to be of the right rank? and know the right people?

I know you get free shipping when you get moved to another base, but Iv heard about a lot of guys getting parts and even whole cars shipped for free, while on duty somewhere. I assume they must have worked, or had contacts in logistics.
