...on auto or manual?
Yeah I know I have another thread around here somewhere. But if you were given a car and were asked, "Auto? or Manual?" what would you choose? Then I am thinking, that what if I did get the automatic now in the SL model and save the manual choice for when I get the VR4 or will I be kicking myself in the butt and regreting the automatic now? I have never owned an automatic, would it be quick off the line? Will it get me around that slow diesle truck going up Geiger Grade with ease? Will it get me past that slower vehicle before the oncoming vehicle reaches me? Any opinions greatly appreciated.

You have to answer for yourself the question of wanting to maximize performance or mazimize ease of use. The manual will give you the best chance to maximize your performance. The auto will mazimize your usability (and the number of people who can drive it).
With an SL, I wouldn't feel bad about getting an auto. As long as your not planning to do some major upgrades, I don't think it would make that big of a difference to me. Just decide if convenience or acceleration is your main concern and you'll know what to do. Then again I have owned 2 VR4s so what the hell do I know ![]()

If your going to drive through heavy traffic all the time, then get an automatic, if not, then get a manual. The autos are quite slow off the line unless you have modified it to a certain extent. I finally got to be as quick as a manual off the line in my auto, but it only took a pair of turbos lol. Especially in an N/A car, the manual will be a better choice for performance.

Re: Still stuck...
unless your really trying to do some street racing or racing at a track, then get the auto, less irritable when in traffic, and nice and simple. with the auto you can still push past cars on the highway thats not a problem.

I actually enjoy my manual in traffic better than my auto. But I might just be crazy.
