Re: circle or square subs
Considering Kicker is the only one who makes square subs (that I know of), and their subs are built more for SPL and don't sound too great, I'll just go with circle because all the subs out there that sound good are round. Of course the shape has NOTHING to do with how they sound, it's just that all of the good subs happen to be round.

Re: circle or square subs
i think sony has some subs that are 5 sided. they sound pretty good. the max watts is like 1200. but i have a friend who has 3 of them runnin a 800 watt sony amp which is actually about 400 watts. his hits pretty good and the quality is very nice.

Re: circle or square subs
as far as looks go, i'd say circle...i just think the square ones look weird. i have a couple Kenwood 10" subs in my trunk now and they sound fine...so just cuz they work, i'd go with the circular ones

Re: circle or square subs
don't get the kickers, square or not...the loudness is there, but sound quality is sacrificed. I'm running two twelve round Eclipse subs and they sound great. JL also as some good subs

this is a dumb poll, if its just about how they look then it doesn't matter, and since the shapes has nuthin to do with how they sound then it must be about looks
hifonics has come out with some square subs and don't forget pyle and those other companies that copied the square sub design....

there were also some hex (6 sided) speakers .... means nothing. The only things that matter are things like effective surface area max cone movement.

You guys really need to stop and get some good subs to listen to, you will never want to hear a sony again.

Re: circle or square subs
All the hicks around here love sony stuff, because of the name XPlod and theyre red. Wow. When they kick you can hear that crappy cone tapping sound...same with my friends MTX 12" 6000, but I think thats cause of the wattage and the stupid box. My MTX 8000 15"s are awesome. Kinda want to get 3 10" Xtants though.
