Question 2000 GP SE Blower Motor Resistor

Can anyone give me a step-by-step guide to changing this? I know this is the problem (blower only working on setting number 5) from the many other posts on this site about it. However, I can't seem to find it underneath my passenger side dashboard. Please include some pictures if possible.

One question, I read that I should remove the sound dampening foam from under there, but it is held on with circular buttons. What's the best way to remove them?

The buttons just pull out, they are barbed retainers and can be re used. The resistor is in the blower housing and the easiest way to get at it is to remove the blower motor, pull the carpet and sound deadening material from inbetween the footwell and the blower housing. Space is limited and its a real pain to change but go slow and dont get to frustrated. It just takes time.
