since its 25 dollars its no big deal, but don't expect anything, are you gonna run it off an amp or just the head unit?

i say you just dont buy it, i know its only $25 right, but its already a knockoff, and whats worse, its a knockoff the second worse car audio manufaturer (the first being boss) $25+ shipping is just a waste, you could put that $25+ into something else, anything else

are you serious? well from my real life experience, i can tell you sony sucks, really, i've heard my friends system with all sony explode, head unit speakers amps subs, and it sounded like nothing compared to the mb quart speaker ppi amp jl sub combo (which does cost more but you get what you pay for)

also i have two sony 12 xplod, im selling for $40 each if you guys want($100 for 2 subs in a sealed box), i've had them for a little over a month, and i have been underpowering them with a 150rms x 2 amp up until this week, and even with the 350rms amp i have, they sound like crap lol

Xplode subs sound good if u get the box properly tuned for them. A mate has one of the oldish pentagon ones running off only 50WRMS and it makes a strong sound. I think there is a program u can get that tells u exact proportions of box and port specific to the specifications of the sub, or so ive been told. In general tho, Sony car audio is nothing special, they just have a name.

i dont know how they make a "strong sound" with only 50rms (because with 50rms you can barely hear any sub) the box i have IS made for the sonys, i have 2 xplode in a custom sealed box, i got the subs for $60 each, it was between the comp vr ($80 each) and the xplod, i chose the xplode because of the higher peak, but that is really overrated, im putting 300rms into the subwoofers right now, and they are already fluttering already, i think im actuality the subs are like 300rms 900 peak, my friend actually bought the comp vrs, put them in a custom sealed, put 300rms into it, and it sounded louder/better than mines

just lettin you guys know, its still not worth the money

"good" is subjective

Once you hear better, your perception changes drastically, trust me

Not true, in fact most of the time you're playing your stereo (at conversation volume or so) you're sending the speakers less than a single watt. Remember the efficiency of speakers, most subs/speakers are in the high 80's. This means that with 1 watt of power, the speaker can play at 86-89dB (whatever the efficiency is). 86-89dB is pretty loud. Right now I'm listening to my home stereo while typing this, it's at a pretty low, but good listening volume and it's only playing at 68dB. Since these speakers have an efficiency of around 92dB, that means I'm sending them .004 watts right now (to add 3dB you double the power, to take away 3dB you cut the power in half)
