OK I had a bit of a problem with my GSX, just dropped a 6 bolt into it and fired it up and something was in my #1 cylinder
. It beat the he11 outa my spark plug and I think left through my turbo (with out damaging it). The dents where small and random on the spark plug so it wasn’t a bolt or anything big. I took the exhaust manifold and intake manifold off looking for the thing and i cant find it. I looked every where in my cylinder, it must of went out my exhaust. I just did a compression test, I got 155psi in all the others 130psi in the last one with the beat up plug. The service limit is 121psi, should I (A) pull the engine and get a new head and possibly new rings or (B) put the manifolds back on and run it as is, and will it run OK?. Option A is alot of time and some cash is it worth it? I just need some expert’s opinions on this thanks. Luke |

Re: I NEED some advice!!
put a squirt of oil in the cylinder if the compression goes up then fades down you probably knocking a chunk out of your rings hell maybe that was what blew through and knocked up your plug

Re: I NEED some advice!!
Tru tru, its either that or there was something else small that went through my trubo, but I think your closer on. I just put a tad bit of oil in all of the cylinders and got 170 in all of them. It was a constant presseure though, it never let down. I also just recharged my battery and it is turning a lot faster, I am wondering oif the new compression is due to the oil or the faster turning of my engine and less time for the compessed air to leak out. what do you think?

Re: I NEED some advice!!
the difference in a dry test, and wet test (with oil) is your rings. If a cylinder has more compression in a wet test, it means there is blowby around your rings.
