here's my 240 (56k beware)

Hey yeah here's some pictures of my car check it out:

Hey here's the muffler! (after we took this I snapped those two metal pieces hanging loose off.) As I've stated, I will be replacing this AFTER this insurance claim settles.

Here is the damage from the truck that tried to park in the same spot I was in:

I'll bet most of you Didn't even see it in the second picture =)
As you can see my car is OBVIOUSLY a total loss. I will make sure to smelt the vehicle asap.

EDIT: BTW the rims are silver not white, doesn't come through to well on with the camera.

No interior shots, I'll take some later. It looks great on the inside though, minor wear on the driver seat, carpets are great, every thing in there is stock, so you know what it looks like. =)

I do want a leather interior though..

Currently: 108,200 miles
bought in 2000' (77,000 miles)
Drives great, new clutch new tranny, those eagle F-1's made a huge difference too.

And the dent: Teach me to park my car! what was I thinking????

I've been fighting for 6 months now over that dent. Mercury insurance REFUSES to pay for it because they think my car is worth $1500. (it's gone up since then but the fight continues.)

How can any one have the nerve to even suggest to total a beautiful car like this? =(

EDIT: I've really got put some paint on the hood & roof =)

Yeah, rims are really subjective to taste, I thought they looked great and the price was right ($115 each). My factory alloys had been curbed numerous times by the origonal owner so something had to be done. When I went out looking for wheels, I wanted something with a pretty simple design that were fairly open, and preferably a bit thicker than stock. Also I didn't have $3000 to throw down for new rims/tires.

I think taking about an inch off of the wheel gap would really bring those things to life. =)

Every thing has to wait untill the insurance company fixes the rear quarter panel and the door though!

Well, you could just sell it to me and not ever have to worry about that dent again! haa. Clean ride though!

Re: here's my 240 (56k beware)

man that is like my accident....the damage was a little over 2000 but they didn't total my car...if they did i would of fought for it. It came close to 80% of the value of the car...which if it hit 80%, they would of totaled it....nice ride though....get some interior pics lol oh and insteading for taking the money and fix it, i took it and got a conversion and thinking of using the rest for suspension or lsd lol...you can notice the damage on the wheel well in my sig...

Re: here's my 240 (56k beware)

y fight for it if its totaled. just let them pay you what its worth and buy it back for like couple hundred dollars...thats what i did and made 1600 dollars for getting rear ended!?!?!?!!? i call that a way to make cash. now i can get a kit which will help get rid of some damage and new tension rods. i see a wreck as a good thing in my opinion. i always come out ahead for some reason and my insurance steadily is going down....$160 a month full coverage.

My car has not been totaled, they are TRYING to total it. If it is totaled I lose a HUGE amount of money.
According to auto trader my car has an actual cash value of $4000-$5000 with it's clean title (don't believe me? look at the clean 89-91's being sold there). With a salvage title it's worth closer to $1000-$2000. In addition to make a salvaged car leagal again would cost me at least $500-$1000. Then the actual damage to the car is estimated at $2600

Their offer is to do this and then write me a check for $2400.
that means I lose $3000 value, $1000 in paperwork/registration, and $2600 to fix the car, and only get $2400 in the process.

That is most certianly a BAD deal. Totaling a car with only cosmetic damage is almost ALWAYs a bad deal. I don't want to drive around a smashed up salvaged car, I've been taking care of this one for a reason, not so that it can be stolen from me just because some dumbass can't see over her dash board when she's trying to park. (compact spot none the less, and it was a V8 tundra!)
...

EDIT: Oh and 1via I dunno what you mean, those shorts are so hot they are on fire. <3

Re: here's my 240 (56k beware)

whoa, i always thought you were a japanese guy from your screenname. haha

anyway, i say try selling the car with the dent. no need to battle them, just let them pay you for the car cost and eithe use that money to pay for fixing that dent or sell it for at least a 1000 bux. i'm sure it'll go for that much.
