port and polished head on a d16a6 how much gains?

If i were to port and polish a d16a6 head would i notice a big difference in power? is it worth it how about cams and valve train? I know aggressive cams work but I want a good idle.

if u want a bi diffence u have to do a little more then just a port and polish. i have a D16Z6 sohc vtec. to get the power im putting down i had to go with a mild street cam-if u go with a street cam u will still have a good idle- a skunk 2 intake manifold, send my computer to skunk2 to get them to reprogram it with one of there programs. better fuel, timing, and air curves, AEM cold air intake stainless steel headers, and a jg throttle body. after that im running 14's on a sohc. so just porting and polishing will just free up the flow of the fuel and air. at the most 20 hp at the flywheel if that.

allowing more room inside the head is a must if your tryin to pull more power, but you are still limited to how much air you are drawing in and flowing out ! it also works the best in a forced induction application...CAI-throttle body-intake mani-header-test-pipe-cat back-and a nice street cam with some springs and youll pull nice and right ...but why dont you look into a mini-me swap 1st ??

I really like the idea of a mini me swap but my car is already a birds nest of wires, I know the hybrid vtech thing works ok but for everyday hard use I need the dependability of a factory set up.Dont get me wrong if done right all vtech hybrids can work well, but I don't believe I can do this myself, and aint got no money.

there really is no " done well " about bro..as long as its done right, which would be the only way any acr would work then its just as relaible as factory..your just swtiching heads and adding your V-tec wiring. I dont see a point in putting money in your head when you could just throw a vtec head on there and have all the diff that pulling headwork on your head would have made..much easier, more efficiant and gives you a much better doner head for future mods....in all realness throwing money into your head is pointless
